Yamagata University Short-Term Exchange Programs (STEP-YU) 2027
Yamagata University’s STEP-YU 2027 offers Chiang Mai University students a one-semester or one-year exchange beginning in April 2027, with a tuition waiver. Options include the Japanese-taught general exchange and an English-taught Japan Studies Program. Faculty nominations are due 16 October 2026.
Eligibility
Chiang Mai University undergraduates in year two or above, or graduate students, who maintain CMU status throughout the exchange, are not in their final year, and have a CGPA of at least 2.50. Ippan Exchange requires JLPT N2; the Japan Studies Program requires JLPT N3 or CEFR B2/IELTS 5.5. Students must return to CMU to continue their studies.
